Hotel Sonnenburg is located in car-free Oberlech directly on the slopes – only 50 meters from the cableway and right in between the children’s slope, the ski school and the Oberlech Kid’s Club – guaranteeing ski-in/ski-out at the Arlberg for every age and skill level. Store your own gear in the designated area in our hotel or rent top equipment from the in-house ski rental Huber.

Lech Zürs is not only rich in ski runs, cabins and cableways, there are also more than 500 certified winter sports and ski instructors waiting for you to join them on the slopes. Eight ski schools in the area ensure winter fun for everyone with group and private lessons for children aged 4,5 years and older, teenagers and adults. From absolute beginner to passionate skiing expert – everyone will find the right class to make the most of their ski holiday while honing their skills in our family-friendly ski resort in Austria.
And – speaking from experience – it is a relief and a joy to know that your children are under the great care of professional and experienced ski instructors. Instead of parents rushing after their children who have yet to figure out how to go any other direction than just downwards, kids can enjoy their first experiences on skis in a safe and playful way. A bonus: While your kids are learning the ropes of skiing you can enjoy some solo time on the more advanced slopes in the area.
If your children are still too young for or simply uninterested in skiing, they may also spend time at the Sonnenburg childcare “Kinderwelt” or at the Oberlech Kid’s Club, where two-year-olds and older kids can join fun indoor and outdoor activities. Both, the ski school Oberlech as well as the Oberlech Kid’s Club, are only a few steps away from our ski hotel Sonnenburg at the Arlberg – even allowing parents to watch their kids’ lessons in the practice area from our sun terrace.

A great mix of easy and advanced ski runs is the ideal for ski holidays with children. While the youngsters (and of course older beginners too) can conquer green and blue slopes, more avid skiers can rush down red and black pistes. In the family ski resort Lech Zürs in Austria 43 % of the slopes are green or blue, making them the perfect playground for early attempts on skis and first breakthroughs in the learning process.
The practice area and children slope right in front of the Hotel Sonnenburg is one of many: By conveyer belt, kids are comfortably transferred to the area, where they are greeted with fun sculptures, easy ski runs and small obstacles … It never gets boring!
