Step outside our family hotel in Vorarlberg and you are already there – right there in the middle of Austria’s biggest ski resort Arlberg. More precisely, you are at the heart of it, in the ski resort Lech Zürs. Among the 300 kilometres of slopes there are many easy ski runs waiting for you and your family. 43% of them are blue slopes, which are less steep and perfect for kids, beginners, and the whole family.

Directly at the back of our Hotel Sonnenburg, you can find the Kid’s Club Oberlech, where children are playfully introduced to skiing. The youngsters comfortably reach the Kid’s Club by conveyor belt, where they then explore the exciting area on their skis. And there is a lot to discover: fun sculptures, easy ski runs, small obstacles … It never gets boring!

Easy slopes for kids and beginners at the Arlberg
Your host at the Sonnenburg, Waltraud Hoch, has a special tip for you: “For families, the ski run across the Grubenalpe is always the most entertaining – even though the parents might have to serve as a draft lift and pull their children for the short flat stretch after the Mohnenfluh.” Choose the blue slope nr. 210 at the Grubenalpe-Oberlech-Lech to reach this ski run.
We also highly recommend the slope nr. 200 across Oberlech down into the valley of Lech.
Everyone who visits Warth-Schröcken is rewarded with more fun and easy slopes. The shortest ski runs, nr. 291 and 293, along the Karhorn cableway are very popular among families. The blue slopes nr. 270 and 282 are ideal for kids who are a little more experienced on their skis. These two easy ski runs lead directly to the valley stations of the Jägeralp chairlift and the Stefissalp chairlift.
A special experience is guaranteed in St. Anton on the “bunny hopping” Hopplweg. This easy adventure trail is perfect for families. Together with the ski bunny Hoppl, children learn the ski guidelines by the FIS, the International Ski Federation, while discovering all kinds of hidden animals in the adjacent forest. You can access the Hopplweg from the blue slope nr. 27, skiing down from Gampen into the valley.
