At an altitude of 1,650 metres, you can expect not only spectacular views of the Omeshorn, Rüfikopf and Kriegerhorn, but also culinary highlights that bring the beauty of the alpine landscape to the table. Our kitchen team pulls out all the stops to spoil you with authentic Austrian cuisine – in the best possible location on the quite literal sunny side. And of course accompanied by equally warm Vorarlberg hospitality.
Enjoy local dishes such as hearty, crispy potato roesti with home-smoked salmon or strong mountain cheese in the restaurant of our 5-star hotel in Lech. Or would you prefer wafer-thin crêpes – with a choice of savoury or sweet fillings? And perhaps a good wine to perfectly compliment the delicacies on your plate. We also cater for special requirements and are happy to serve gluten-free or lactose-free options.
For dessert, traditional Austrian delicacies await you – fluffy yeast dumplings filled with luscious plum jam, golden Kaiserschmarrn, creamy curd strudel or a moist piece of chocolaty Sacher torte. If you prefer something a little more unusual, you can look forward to our unique cocktails!

Happy children, happy parents: Look forward to a relaxed lunch break, knowing that your children will enjoy it as much as you do. As an exclusive family hotel in Lech, we know exactly what children like. Which is why we serve not one, two or three – but ten kids’ favourites on our sun terrace. The perfect one for each and every hungry little sportster, who is getting ready for the next ski run or family hike through Lech. And – knowing our little guests – they can always feel free to pick and choose their favourite side dishes as they like. Pasta with your schnitzel? Sure! Whatever your child’s heart desires.
Sharing the joy: our sharing platters
There is nothing like sharing a delicious meal with your loved ones and talking about it – that’s for sure. And on the Sonnenburg sun terrace, we divide fluffy Kaiserschmarrn, hearty goulash and golden schnitzel by four: Enjoy one of our sharing dishes with four people, two of them with eight, all three with twelve and so on. We are happy to welcome groups of friends, travel groups or extended families on holiday in Austria. It is best to book with us in advance, so that we can prepare your table.
The best regional ingredients
At the Sonnenburg, we value animal welfare and regional products. We therefore choose our suppliers carefully and cherish long-term partnerships. We are convinced that special moments are created when attention to detail meets outstanding regional ingredients.
For example, we only use sustainably caught salmon trout from Zirl in nearby Tyrol. Our ‘Sunny Honey’ is collected from bee colonies in Lower Austria, which the Sonnenburg is delighted to sponsor. Our organic eggs come fresh from Vorarlberg and we actively support local agriculture – for example the Sennhof farm in Rankweil.
