The highlights in the ski area Lech Zürs am Arlberg
When people think of skiing in Lech Zürs, they think of the White Ring. This legendary 22-kilometre route in the Alps connects Oberlech, Lech, Zürs and Zug. On this route, you master over 5,500 metres in altitude on six easy to intermediate ski runs around the Omeshorn – with the picturesque nature of the Vorarlberg Alps as your backdrop. If you want to marvel at the views, there are also two viewing platforms at Rüfikopf and Madloch. The White Ring with its beautiful views and great snow conditions is a unique half-day tour and will undoubtedly be the highlight of any ski holiday in the ski resort of the Arlberg area. And our 5-star-hotel Sonnenburg in Lech is your perfect starting point.
A short rope tow below the Rüfikopf leads up to a slope that can push even the bravest skiers to their limits. The “Lange Zug” (en. “long run”) is an 852-metre ski run with an incline of up to 80 % – and it truly is infamous in the ski resorts around Lech in Austria. It is even considered one of the steepest prepped ski slopes in the world. So don’t worry: Your adrenaline rush is guaranteed. Right here, speed skier Harry Egger reached a speed of no less than 248 km/h during his world record attempt in 2002! Find out more about this and other stories that have plaid out on the Langer Zug at an information point right at the edge into the abyss.
