With your sledge through the Austrian Alps
Hiking uphill, tobogganing downhill – it doesn’t get much better than this! Whizz down from Oberlech to Lech am Arlberg and whirl up the fresh snow of the Austrian Alps on your toboggan or sledge. And if you think tobogganing is only for children, you clearly haven’t given our curvy route a try. Our Oberlech toboggan run starts directly at the Hotel Sonnenburg and winds its way through the forest in fun and fast manoeuvres.
Our tip: Be back at the starting blocks in no time with the Lech-Oberlech mountain cableway – the toboggan run conveniently ends right at the valley station. Our team at the reception will be more than happy to issue you with a ski pass so that you can take the mountain cableway back up to Oberlech for another ride on your toboggan in Austria!

Tobogganing in Austria under the stars
We know from experience that neither young nor old can get enough of tobogganing in the Austrian Alps. Even when the sun is slowly hiding further and further behind the snowy mountain peaks. But no problem, in Oberlech you can still keep going!
The Oberlech toboggan run is open from 9 am to 9 pm and is floodlit in the evening. A night-time tobogganing session (or many) is a truly special experience. Twinkling stars and the silence of nature – interrupted only by the laughter of our young and young-at-heart bobsleigh racers.

When winter falls at the Arlberg, there are many lovely paths leading down into the valley. But we know your children’s favourite route is going to be the Oberlech toboggan run in Austria. Hop on a sledge or bobsleigh right outside the hotel and take off down into the valley!
You can also rent colourful toboggans directly from us at the hotel.
On the 1.1 km run, you can dart through the forest at lightning speed – from Oberlech down to Lech am Arlberg in the Austrian Alps. Then: Take your sledge or toboggan and upwards you go. Fortunately, thanks to the Lech-Oberlech mountain cableway, you don’t have to tread through the snow but you can comfortably ride back to the start in just a few minutes.
